    What would be the best way to hook this up to a raspberry pi 3 with the pi powering and communication via i2c

    You’ll need a pair of pull-up resistor (2K2 to 10K) to 3.3V on the SDA and SCL lines. The Raspberry Pi pins itself is 3.3V IO. So, no level shifter is required here.

    For power, you could use the 5V from the Raspberry Pi wired to the VIN of the Mini Ultra Pro.
