MFRC522 RFID Compatibility?

Hi, I just received an Arduino Mini Ultra Pro V2 and I´m starting with it.

I tried several examples without problems and board seems to work fine.

I want to use it in a project with RFID controlled security access. I was using Arduino nano and decided to change to a mini ultra to gain batery life and allow longer run times.

My first problem was trying to use my code, I am using MFRC522 RFID readers, and my library (https://github.com/miguelbalboa/rfid) throws an error when compiling saying it´s not for SAMD architectures.

Do you know if I can use my RFID reader with Arduino Mini Ultra? If not, do you know which RFID reader should I use?

Unfortunately I have never tried any NFC reader to date.
